{{ first_name }}:This is the Phrase That Changed My Life
Hey Bold Soul,
I want to tell you about a phrase that changed my life.
Not a quote I read somewhere. Not something a mentor said to me. Something I started saying to myself; quietly at first; every time I caught myself doing the thing I knew I needed to stop.
*I don't do that anymore.*
Here's where it started.
After the mirror moment I told you about last week; after "you are your assignment" broke something open in me; I still struggled. Knowing something and living it are two very different things.
I would catch myself shrinking in a conversation and think: there it is again. That stupid F'ing thing.
I'd feel the pull to over-explain a decision nobody asked me to justify. There it is again.
I'd say yes when I meant no; and feel that familiar exhaustion settle in. There it is again.
And one day; instead of just noticing it; I said something different.
*Oh wait. I don't do that anymore.*
Not as something I was trying to convince myself of, just a quiet yet firm redirect back to who I was deciding to become.
It worked! It interrupted the pattern long enough for me to make a different choice.
That's all a pattern interrupt needs to do. It doesn't need to fix everything. It just needs to create enough space for you to choose differently.
I don't do that anymore became my space.
And I want to help you find yours.
Next week I'm going to share something I'm building; something specifically for the woman who is done recycling the same frustrations and ready to do something about it.
Stay tuned.
More soon; Keep becoming YOU!
Melissa
